The Jervis McEntee Diaries - December 7, 1875

Diary Entry:

Have not felt at all well and so have not painted. Mr. Wilson called to talk about the picture. The result is I am to go to his home to confer with him and his wife tomorrow night. I dont believe any thing will come of it. They dont know what they want and I dislike to paint to their whims. However I will try to get at them. Eastman Johnson came in. Just got back today from Nantucket. Only saw him a moment as Wilson was here. Dined at Frank Weeks. It was raining when I went over. After dinner we went up stairs and called on the Folsoms. Had a very pleasant call. Rich and luxurious apartments, a fine [?]. Mr. & Mrs. Fuller were there and a Mr. Bartlett an American from England who had to be translated into American so thoroughly English had he grown. Wrote to Gertrude today.
