Biographical/Historical Note: Illustrator, painter, caricaturist, teacher; New York, N.Y. Beard was a founder of the American Boy Scouts, and was an author of several books on nature subjects. He also illustrated for several national magazines.
Purchased 1956 by the Archives of American Art from Charles Hamilton Autographs.
