Collection Summary: Cartoons for a WPA mural in the Columbus High School, Washington, D.C.; biographical material; notes on various subjects, including art, industrial design, music and history; miscellaneous writings; study photographs of works of art; clippings, exhibition catalogs and announcements; and printed material about other artists, including Boardman Robinson, Thomas Hart Benton, Dean Cornwell, Frank Brangwyn, George Baller and Chanase's wife, Ausubel Sheva.

Biographical/Historical Note: Painter, printmaker, mural painter and sculptor; New York, N.Y. Also known as Richard Dane Chanase.

Material was left in Chanase's former residence and was donated by subsequent occupants, Genie and Moshe Szajngarten.
