    Joan Kron papers, 1959-1971

    Subject files containing letters, business records, printed material, photographs, and audio-visual material concerning the Young Men's/Women's Hebrew Association of Philadelphia's Art Council, 1959-1971, and the Beautiful Bag Co., 1963-1969.

    Arts Council material, 1959-1967, consists of a history of the Council, 5 statements of purpose, 1962-1965, and 3 project files containing letters, minutes, clippings, catalogs, schedules, posters, and photographs for "Art 1963/A New Vocabulary" (October-November 1962), "Underground Films & Mixed Media Discotheque" (December 10 - 11, 1966), and "Museum of Merchandise" (May 1967). Also included are Arts Council posters, 1959-1971.

    Beautiful Bag Co. material, 1963-1969, consists of financial reports and tax material, invoices, receipts, title searches, correspondence, notes, clippings, press releases, brochures, and photographs regarding miscellaneous projects including "Art Museum Store," 1964, "Temporary Tattoo," 1965-1966, "Eat Pin" designed by Robert Indiana, "Durable Dishes" designed by Roy Lichtenstein, "Art on Billboards," 1966-1967, and "Stunning Stationery," 1967.

    Also included is an audio tape and CD of a radio broadcast "Hey Look at That" concerning "Art on Billboards" as well as a reel-to-reel recording of the Tonight show regarding The Museum of Merchandise featuring Auderey Sabol and Joan Kron.
