Photographs and printed material concerning the exhibitions and sales records of the James Vigeveno Galleries. Included are a 7 p.chronology of exhibitions held at the Vigeveno Galleries from 1940-1956, photographs of paintings sold through the gallery, accompanied by a list; a complete set of exhibition announcements and catalogs; sales records recorded on 3 x 5 index cards containing names of artists and prominent Los Angeles collectors; and one undated 5 x 7 photograph of James Vigeveno.
ADDITION: 169 negatives (b&w and color) of the French and European modernist paintings that were sold by the Vigeveno Galleries during its years of operation. Three scrapbooks containing newspaper and magazine articles about exhibitions held at the James Vigeveno Galleries, 1940-1956.
Donated 1987 by Annie Vigeveno, the widow of James Vigeveno. The sales records, negatives of works of art and scrapbooks were donated 2001, 2002 and 2005 by Tim and Lynn Mason, collectors of California art.
