Correspondence, sketches, notes, financial reports, minutes of staff meetings, reading lists, mission statements, course lists, inventories of tools, photographs, and miscellany concerning De Patta's jewelry making. Included are letters to De Patta from Victor Ries, Janet Fleisher, Janet McHendrie, Fred Barson, Nannys Design Gallery, San Francisco, and others; eleven letters from De Patta written while she and her husband Eugene Bielawski were in Japan, 1960, as well as letters and photographs from acquaintances in Japan; draft of a letter from De Patta, representing the Metal Arts Guild, to Senator George Miller, opposing the initiation of entry fees for artists at the California State Fair, 1955; letters from Alice Flory, 1959, and pencil sketches concerning Eugene Bielawskis and De Pattas designs for Florys home; letters to Eugene Bielawski regarding De Pattas jewelry and loans to exhibitions, 1987-2000; a promotional brochure for De Pattas production jewelry; invoices, price lists, and personal stationary designed by De Patta; letters, sketches, lists, and notes concerning (3z(Bjewelry on order(3y(B, and correspondence with stores wishing to exhibit De Patta's jewelry; pencil sketches of rings and brooches; papers concerning the Art Department, California Labor School, San Francisco, California, 1946, where Margaret De Patta and Eugene Bielawski taught, including teaching notes, minutes of staff meetings, financial reports, reading lists, mission statements, course lists, and inventories of tools; a supply catalog, Jewelers Findings catalog no. 648J, W. R. Cobb Company, n.d., and other printed material; photographs of De Pattas jewelry, De Patta at work and De Pattas interior design for a house in San Francisco; and miscellany. Also included are San Francisco Metal Arts Guild newsletters, 1952-1964.

Donated 2003 by Martha Bielawski, the second wife of Margaret De Patta's second husband, Eugene Bielawski. These papers were collected as part of the Nanette L. Laitman Documentation Project for Craft and Decorative Arts in America.
