REELS 3108-3115: Lists of commissions, resumes, membership cards and family birth, death, and marriage certificates; 2 letters from Kenyon Cox to his brother Will; a biography of Kenyon Cox; clippings, articles, and biographies on Kenyon Cox and a photo of his Art Students League painting class, 1887; Allyn Cox's correspondence with artists, museum directors, curators, architects, congressmen, senators, and others; correspondence, and a diary, 1923, of Mrs. Allyn (Ethel) Cox; photos of Kenyon Cox and family, of Allyn Cox, his family, friends, models, classes, residences, and works of art; writings; 4 sketchbooks; sketches; business records on commissions, museums, and art associations; passports; legal documents; scrapbooks containing photos of Cox's work; awards; catalogs; clippings and printed material.

Among the photos are: a cased ambrotype of Anna T. Stott as a young girl, a cased tintype of Louise Cox as a young girl, a cased tintype of "the Cincinnati School" (K. Cox lower right), 2 cased tintypes of Kenyon Cox and an unidentified man (different poses), a carte-de-visite of K. Cox in the studio of George Becker, 1881, a photo of K. Cox taken by Pirie MacDonald, ca. 1905, and a platinum print of an unidentified woman signed by "The Misses Selby," ca. 1910.

REEL 3976: Biographical material, a sketchbook, 1873, by Kenyon Cox, of people and scenes in Ohio; a fragment of a letter illustrated by Kenyon Cox, undated; correspondence, 1954-1964; clippings, 1950-1981; brochures, pamphlets, and a newlsetter, 1952-1982; a copy of a masters thesis "Kenyon Cox: Proponent of Academia in American Art during the Advent of Modernism" by Betty Jo Carroll, 1978; photographs of Allyn Cox, his friends, Cox at work on the U. S. Capitol murals, and of works of art, undated and 1931-1975.

UNMICROFILMED: Two sketches, ca. 1943, entered in the War Department mural competition: one of tempera and gouache on board, drawn to a ratio of 1": 1', and marked "120A"; the other, a full-sized detail, in the same media, and marked "120B"; 99 color negatives and 265 transparencies of works of art, models, and house interiors; and an untranscribed reel-to-reel taped interview of Allyn Cox by Tony Janak, 1974.

Material on reels N69-9-18 lent for microfilming 1969; portions subsequently donated 1977 and 1983 along with material on reels 3108-3115 and 3976. Two sketches entered in U.S. War Dept. mural competition were donated by Essex County Greenbelt Association, 1984.
