A history of the Society; a list of early exhibitions; the constitution and by-laws; minutes of meetings, 1879-1969; annual reports, 1888-1900; recording secretary's reports, 1928-1938; financial reports, 1924-1951; cash books for the building fund, 1893-1954, the decorative art fund, 1921-1953, and operating expenses, 1932-1944; a memorial funds file, 1924-1968, the Felix Gendrot bequest file, 1937-1967; five drawings by member Felix Gendrot, including three undated drawings of early Roman church facades and two 1937 sketches for the title page of a book; general correspondence, 1901-1981, and business correspondence, 1926-1936; files on art classes, 1926-1950, exhibitions, 1879-1979, loans, 1904-1905, and lectures, 1894; a scrapbook containing clippings, 1929-1930; exhibition announcements, clippings and miscellaneous printed items, 1898-1967 and undated; and photographs, 1889-1936 and undated, of Society members, building and exhibitions.
The Copley Society records were microfilmed as a loan in 1984; the records were given to the Archives of American Art in 1986.
