60,000 negatives and slides of photographs of works of art taken by Clement's and others for art galleries and artists' portraits. Included are ledger books presumably corresponding to the negatives, listing artist, title, gallery and other miscellaneous information. Also found are photographs taken of Whitney Museum of American Art exhibitions; Clement's correspondence with artists (ca. 250 items); and negatives purchased by Clements of works of art taken by Oliver Baker, a colleague of Clements.
ADDITION: 634 negatives of works of art taken by Clements and Oliver Baker for Kraushaar Galleries in New York.
Donated 2000 by Geoffrey Clements and in 2004 by Kraushaar Galleries. In 1999 Kraushaar Galleries purchased Clements' negatives for images of works of art which were in the gallery's collection.
