Biographical/Historical Note: Painter, collector; New York, N.Y. Subjects painted include portraits of children. Wald is the author of MYTH AMERICA: PICTURING WOMEN, 1865-1945 (New York: Pantheon Books, 1975).

All items except scrapbook donated 1971 by Carol Wald.
