Collection Summary: Two letters, July 30, 1966, and Feb. 4, 1974, to Macauley from Henry Strater. Strater wrote about his recovery from a heart attack, recent exhibits of his work and his ability to paint despite failing health.

Biographical/Historical Note: Macauley was a Detroit automaker and art patron. Strater (1896-1987) was a painter from New York, N.Y. and Ogunquit, Me.
